Rede Xim Spader A spading machine is being used to break up compaction layers from 6 to 12 inches deep and possibly add gypsum and microbial life to the depth that the machine is running. This could be a way to remediate wet spots in fields. The machine's paddle-like shovels enter the ground one at a time as the machine moves forward. The spading action does not produce sidewall or bottom layer compaction. Neither does it pulverize soil structure nor bring subsoil material to the surface.
